In a tweet late Monday, Twitter said it has “just launched a new, improved version of TweetDeck,” and that “In 30 days, users must be Verified to access TweetDeck.”

That will leave it accessible only to Twitter Blue subscribers — who pay $8 a month — or, apparently, users who have otherwise been granted a blue checkmark.

It will also likely be the death knell of TweetDeck, which was particularly popular among power users. The app lost much of its functionality over the weekend after Twitter owner Elon Musk announced restrictions on the number of tweets that users could view each day, though Monday’s update supposedly fixed those issues.
